Our Contents policies include

Alternative accommodation
Reasonable costs for temporary accommodation if your home is uninhabitable due to damage or you’ve been prevented from accessing it by government or local authorities.

Change of Situation and Transit Cover
We understand it can take time to move home. We’ll cover your contents at both your old house and new house for up to 30 days, provided you tell us within the 30 days. We will also provide some cover in case your contents are damaged due to fire, theft or collision, while in transit.

Overseas travel
New Zealanders like to travel. We cover some of your contents anywhere in Australia and the Pacific Islands provided that you’re not overseas for longer than 30 days and they’re not covered by travel insurance.

Liability cover
We will cover you for your legal liability to pay damages and reparation for accidental bodily injury or loss to someone else’s property.
Most people choose our Maxi Contents as it offers replacement cover on almost all of your contents. Don’t forget to specify any valuable items such as jewellery or specialist equipment. Maxi Contents also includes cover for:
- Contents in professional storage facilities
- Gradual damage
- Specified items
- Change of locks if keys are stolen
- Unauthorised use of credit and debit cards
- Misuse of mobile/smart phones
- Contents while at boarding school or tertiary accommodation
- Vehicle accessories within a work vehicle
- Property used for trade, professional or business use
A more affordable option that provides cover for specific events at the home including natural disaster, fire, theft or flooding. You can upgrade your Flexi Contents to add extra cover where you need it. Flexi Contents also includes cover for:
- Specified items
- Change of locks if keys are stolen
- Occupier’s and Personal Liabilities
- Authorities Damage
- Unauthorised use of credit and debit cards
- Property used for trade, professional or business use
Extra value with Vero
10% Extra cover for no extra cost
With our Maxi House cover, you may qualify for SumExtra. This gives you up to 10% more cover than your sum insured value in a natural disaster (e.g. earthquake, tsunami), and full repair or replacement for other insured events (e.g. flood, fire).
Up to 10% off by combining house and contents
