Vero Insurance has been named as a finalist for General Insurance Company of the Year at the 2021 ANZIIF NZ Insurance Industry Awards

This award recognises companies that have demonstrated strong performance and outstanding service for their customers.

“This is a great result that reflects our commitment to being there for our customers in the moments that matter,” said Jimmy Higgins, CEO of Suncorp New Zealand, which includes the Vero and Asteron Life brands.

Higgins says that Vero has continued to lift customer satisfaction through its focus on claims and natural disaster response and its work to support customers experiencing vulnerability.

It has continued to grow the Underwriting Academy that it launched to invest in a critical insurance skill, as well as improve the experience for customers and brokers, as well as launching its Risk Profiler tool to help brokers and SMEs assess and mitigate business risks.

Higgins said that being shortlisted for the award also recognised Vero’s market-leading work with Good Shepherd NZ to create and trial an accessible car insurance product for Kiwis on limited incomes.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Auckland on 17 November 2021.

Suncorp New Zealand has also been named as a finalist for the Excellence in Workplace Diversity & Inclusion Award, while Asteron Life has been named as a finalist for Life Insurance Company of the Year.
